Here’s where I get excited! All of the manual processes and clunky interfaces with our legacy system created extra time on each step of a load. Now that we have all the information automated, it’s helped reduce time spent using the system for our dispatchers and drivers,

In total, we’re saving over 2,000 hours each year —

  • Dispatchers save 6-8 hours per week. Multiply that by 13 dispatchers, and we’re saving 104 hours every week. You can calculate the savings based on their salary, but what you can’t measure is their relief.

  • Drivers report significant savings and less frustration in and out of the terminals. Now, it takes them 3 minutes to upload a round trip, and the entire process is automated. This saves them 37.5 hours per week, which turns out to be 1,950 hours saved each year from our drivers.

Another benefit, less tangible but equally important, is the improved relationship with our BCOs. Because we can now offer automated cost analysis via PortPro’s reporting, our BCOs get access to real-time data on their end, which helps them better plan and forecast with their production teams and warehouses. This makes them appreciate working with us even more and helps us retain and increase their business.

  2. Everything is automated and easy to use. We’re able to be less reactive and more proactive in planning our drivers’ schedules and routes. We’ve seen a reduction in per diem issues, and we no longer have to go to multiple sites to make an appointment — the system does that.  

  3. PortPro’s driver mobile app requires fewer calls and text messages and saves time tracking down paperwork for both us and our drivers. As a result, our quality control has greatly improved — there’s less chance of human error with automated status updates, container tracking, and automated customer and driver pay rates. 

  4. Our billing has also been simplified. The system generates invoices, and we’re getting them out faster and paying faster, which helps our cash flow.

  5. I love the customized reports I can now get using real-time data. We’re planning better and have the extra time to focus on growing the business and improving our service. It also makes us a better partner to our customers because we can provide them with essential data related to their loads.
